So, the RNC is holding it's meeting this week. The more I read (and hear from Mitt and Ron) the less I am inclined to stand with them. My sense of it is that the Republican candidates are interested to protecting the rich, dismissing the poor and saddling the middle-class with responsibility to pay the bills.
I am not a Bible scholar, but I have read a bit of it or heard it read to me by Sunday school teachers and Ministers. One line from this book has always stuck with me: We are told that the "poor will always be with us." I have no idea about what comes after that, but my thought about this phrase is that we are being told that in our world there will always be those people who, for what ever reason, need the help of others..
My sense of the republican ultra conservatives (and I think Mitt Romney is one of them) is that they have no compassion for these poor and that they operate on the basis that if you're not earning as much money as them you should be allowed to fall by the wayside. Perhaps they have misunderstood the "survival of the fittest" principle.
I could be wrong about this, If so I urge someone to set me straight!
In a country as rich as America I cannot fathom a political position which is willing to treat people like pigs who are tolerated only for the good we can get, mostly from their deaths.
I really hate being so politically inept and intellectually deficient as to not be able to see the great value to be gained from letting the Republican Party take charge of our country only four years after a republican administration led us into a war we didn't need and unnecessarily killed some of America's finest young men and women.
The problem here for me is insufficient data and inadequate analysis. Maybe the Republicans are so far above my thinking level that I just can't get it, but so far I haven't seen the evidence of their success.
I hear tell that they are so stubbornly attached to an ideology that seeks only to promote cooperate success
that they can't even play nice with their opposite numbers in their two houses..

Welcome
Welcome to my Blog site and yes I know the name of the site may be misspelled, but I like the look of it and it kinda reflects what future content you may find here, i.e. things that rattle around in my mind.
I will be sharing my thoughts and opinions about many things. Please be sure that you understand that these are just my thoughts and opinions, many of them faulty and even ill conceived. I would welcome any comments anyone may have about the ideas or observations I put here. I am more than willing to hear that you think me wrong or even deluded about what I write. I am not interested in a war of words, however.
To get started I'm going to list a few of the subjects I will probably be writing about:
Religion, faith
War and military stuff
Mental Illnesses - from Schizophrenia to Personality Disorders
Purpose
Meaning
Love and Sex
The Second Amendment
Guns
Motorcycles
Babies and Children
Getting old
Wasting time
Neuroscience
Climate change
Hope for our children's future
.......
Well, perhaps you get the idea.
Here's something I've been thinking about a lot; probably since high school. It took me a long time to realize that I agree with what Albert Einstein wrote/said about religion. Please see "Becoming a Freethinker and a Scientist". A Google search will find it for you quickly.
It's late, so I'm going to bed. More later. - jj
