So, the RNC is holding it's meeting this week. The more I read (and hear from Mitt and Ron) the less I am inclined to stand with them. My sense of it is that the Republican candidates are interested to protecting the rich, dismissing the poor and saddling the middle-class with responsibility to pay the bills.

I am not a Bible scholar, but I have read a bit of it or heard it read to me by Sunday school teachers and Ministers. One line from this book has always stuck with me: We are told that the "poor will always be with us." I have no idea about what comes after that, but my thought about this phrase is that we are being told that in our world there will always be those people who, for what ever reason, need the help of others..

My sense of the republican ultra conservatives (and I think Mitt Romney is one of them) is that they have no compassion for these poor and that they operate on the basis that if you're not earning as much money as them you should be allowed to fall by the wayside. Perhaps they have misunderstood the "survival of the fittest" principle.

I could be wrong about this, If so I urge someone to set me straight!

In a country as rich as America I cannot fathom a political position which is willing to treat people like pigs who are tolerated only for the good we can get, mostly from their deaths.

I really hate being so politically inept and intellectually deficient as to not be able to see the great value to be gained from letting the Republican Party take charge of our country only four years after a republican administration  led us into a war we didn't need and unnecessarily  killed some of America's finest young men and women.

The problem here for me is insufficient data and inadequate analysis. Maybe the Republicans are so far above my thinking level that I just can't get it, but so far I haven't seen the evidence of their success.
I hear tell that they are so stubbornly attached to an ideology that seeks only to promote cooperate success
that they can't even play nice with their opposite numbers in their two houses..
